Product Introduction

A heat pipe is a passive heat transfer device that efficiently transports heat from one point to another. It operates based on the principles of phase change and fluid dynamics to facilitate the rapid transfer of thermal energy. Heat pipes are widely used in various applications where effective heat dissipation is crucial, such as in electronics, aerospace, and cooling systems.


Advantages and Characteristics

Heat pipes are very effective in transferring heat, because by using phase change and two-phase flow transfer, a large amount of heat can be quickly transferred through a small temperature difference, and heat can be effectively transferred over long distances. Heat pipes are commonly used in electronic devices such as laptops, smartphones, and game consoles to efficiently conduct thermal energy from processors and graphics cards. Heat pipes can also be used in various systems such as CPUs, GPUs, LED lights, and even solar cooling systems and spacecraft heat dissipation control.

Absorption

Heat pipes absorb heat from a heat source or hot end, usually through direct contact or through thermal interface materials.

Evaporation

When a working fluid absorbs heat, it undergoes a phase change from liquid to steam. This happens at the hot end of the heat pipe.

Transmission

The vaporized working fluid is a gas, which conducts heat rapidly in the heat pipe due to the pressure gradient.

Condensation

At the cold end of the hot pipe, the vapor loses heat to the surrounding environment, and the working fluid condenses back to the liquid state. The condensed working fluid passes through the wicking structure through the capillary action and returns to the hot end. Repeating the above stages in this way is how the heat pipe works.
